Plot/Intro:
Weird things always tend to happen in Southgate.
It’s just the town. That’s how it works. Murders, rapes, drug deals; marriages, friendships, fall outs—they all happen here, like in every other town out there. But there’s something different about it—no one knows what it is, all they know is that some people get streaks of good luck, while others get streaks of bad luck. Karma? Yes, of course. But a twisted kind of karma. Southgate is a place of not many wonders. It looks like a plain old city, and it is—set in Michigan, it’s just like every other city; save for the uncanny streak of karma that seems to be plaguing everyone.
The city’s founder, a Mister Alexander Weston, was a greedy man. He started construction on Southgate in 1865, and the town was completed in 1873—but a city is never completed, is it? Numerous things are always being added and people are always moving, causing housing structures to expand and move. That’s what happened to Southgate in its early years. Buildings were torn down, rebuilt, and torn down again—only to be rebuilt by some other person. People moved in and out of Southgate, some people settling, some people restless to move from the place—rumours flew around that Mister Weston, who had supposedly committed suicide in the 1880s, had actually been murdered—what goes around, comes around, as they say, since he was a greedy, cruel man who took everything for granted.
Southgate may look like any other town, but it certainly isn’t like any other town—here, karma rules; it chooses who to strike with luck, it chooses how long, and it chooses whether the luck is bad or good. Be careful what you do in Southgate, for as they say—no good deed goes unpunished; but neither does a bad one. Enjoy your stay at Southgate, Michigan. We’re expecting you.—————
Southgate is a human rpg with a slight twist; karma rules. No, not the karma that members give each other—character’s karma. Good and bad actions, good and bad reactions—that makes up the foundation of karma. Will your character do good things, or bad? You decide what your character’s fate is—but karma plays a part in there, too.
We hope to see you there. [:
